A BUHERA security was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly abandoned his guard point to quench his s*xual thirst on a mentally ill woman.
Lovemore Manhembe, 59, of Gutu village under Chief Chitsunge, faces rape charges for taking advantage of a mental patient.It is alleged the elderly Manhembe was guarding Dorowa Mine premises in Buhera North when he spotted the woman, 35, passing by to fetch some water from a borehole close to his base.
Manhembe is said to have allowed the woman to proceed to the borehole, probably giving himself some time to plot how he was going to execute the vile offence.
On her way back, the guard allegedly lured the woman to a secluded place along the nearby Save River where he had s*x with the woman once.

The woman let the cat out of the bag when she was put under pressure by the aunt to explain why she had abandoned her borehole route and gone to the river place.
The incident, which happened around 9am, was later reported to the police who responded with an arrest on Manhembe.
Police spokesperson Inspector Chishiri confirmed receiving the report and warned the public against taking advantage of the mentally challenged.
He said those caught would face full wrath of the law.
